It's butterfly party time in the Big Meadow as butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa) has begun to bloom. This showy member of the milkweed family attracts many pollinators, including a wide variety of bees, hover flies and butterflies, such as the pearl crescents (Phyciodes tharos) shown in the photo.
